About the Department:
Transaction Reporting sits within our Investments Operations area and oversees a wide range of investment regulatory data reporting for the business.
The team consists of a group of analysts who are responsible for the oversight and production support of our daily Trade and Transaction reporting requirements. They perform oversight and support processes pertaining to MiFID II transaction reporting and post trade transparency reporting, EMIR, SFTR, and similar regulations in other jurisdictions - notably for the Singaporean and Australian regulators.
About the role:
This is a crucial role in a hugely important area of the business and the industry.
Critical functions include ensuring that the end-to-end control model across these regimes is appropriately executed to ensure the business has assurance that we fully comply with the regulatory requirements of the regimes concerned. This includes ensuring appropriate oversight is applied where reporting is delegated to a third party, regular testing for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy, and ensuring that all team tasks are being carried out effectively and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensuring that this operating control model is executed appropriately
Performing reconciliations, investigating issues and liaising with various counterparties to resolve them.
Reviewing and interpreting accuracy testing results and working to remediate errors.
Understanding industry best practise and key trends and issues through peers, external suppliers and other contacts.
As required, representing the team at various internal forums and disseminating information back to the team where appropriate.
Actively participating in the management of relationships with critical third-party suppliers, stakeholders and other internal teams.
Identifying process enhancements, or potential risks, to ensure that reporting provided is of the highest standard and remains fully compliant.
Recommending / deploying changes to procedures as necessary.
Managing the resolution of complex problems, business issues and rectifying anomalies to ensure a high-level of reporting.
Producing insightful and meaningful MI reporting to management highlighting trends, analysis, and errors.
Experience & Qualifications:
Accounting or other relevant industry qualification preferred.
Strong technical investment process knowledge/experience relevant to role, in particular with regards to regulation.
Expertise in some or all of MiFID II Trade and Transaction/ EMIR/ MAS/ ASIC/ SFTR reporting.
Strong understanding of investment life cycle / middle office data flow would be beneficial.
Strong functional understanding of main derivative instrument types;
Strong experience/skills in regulatory controls.
Evidence of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong communication skills both verbally and written, with an ability to articulate issues clearly and logically.
