What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retention and Employee Relations Specialist position at Abernethy Laurels?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Employee Retention Specialist determines why people are leaving the organization and builds relationships and initiatives to extend employee tenure. Success in this role will be determined by the improvement in employee retention measured against the initial retention and turnover statistics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Build employee networks/communities.
2. Develop innovative opportunities for advancement and career paths for employees.
3. Explore ways and make recommendations on improving the interview process, selection criteria and applicant communication plan.
4. Ascertaining ways the organization and managers can be more transparent with employees.
5. Coordinating and possibly conducting supervisor/management training and development programs.
6. Serves as an employee ambassador for staff to ask question and provide feedback.
7. Assists HR Manager and supervisors in analyzing employee surveys and/or staff interviews.
8. Facilitate and direct the monthly Employee Commitment and Connection Team meetings.
9. Provides back up to HR & Payroll manager with payroll, onboarding, and orientation.
10. Attend Job Fairs and Recruiting events. Create hiring events. Partner with colleges and different organizations
11. Work with Department Managers to develop and execute action plans for employee satisfaction surveys.
12. Assist with job postings through Indeed, ADP and other forums.
13. Assist with employee break room bulletin boards and digital signage, to create an welcoming atmosphere, enhance employee moral and improve communication
14. Collaborates with leadership, and marketing personnel as appropriate to maintain a media presence and maximize branding effort to be “The Employer of Choice”.
15. Assists with onboarding programs in cooperation with Director of Quality and Education and HR (coordination of Welcome Teams, Shepherding/Mentoring orientation program, etc.).
16. Assist with interviewing and reference checks for new applicants as directed.
17. Maintains engagement of candidates through hiring process and into orientation
