We are currently hiring a Project Manager for the 179D team (Senior Production Associate) to assist in our 179D projects focused on engineering and energy efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to work with the nation’s premier 179D tax consulting and engineering practice.
Summary of Duties:
As a 179D Senior Production Associate/Project Manager, you will report to the Associate Director, 179D. In this interdisciplinary role, you will optimize your project management skills to ensure the delivery of 179D projects, meeting deadlines, and exceeding client expectations. You will collaborate closely with a diverse team, including engineers, energy modelers, lawyers, CPAs, and MBAs, leveraging their expertise to conduct technical analyses and create value for our esteemed clients. This is a hybrid based role in Houston, Texas and will require a minimum of 3 to 4 days within the office as defined by 179D leadership.
Responsibilities (A Day in the Life)
- Leverage strong project management skills to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met, overseeing projects from initiation to completion.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to conduct technical analyses and provide valuable insights to clients.
- Develop data based project management methodology through Salesforce, including high efficiency in quality data entries into the system.
- Schedule field inspections.
- Assist in the analysis of confidential financial and technical client data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Conduct site visits and client interviews to foster strong relationships, understand construction projects, and gather relevant technical and financial documentation.
- Draft comprehensive technical reports and deliverables, substantiating tax deduction claims for clients.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Energy Efficient Commercial Building Property tax incentive (Internal Revenue Code section 179d), including the procedures and documentation required to claim the deduction.
- Provide periodic assistance to colleagues in non-technical aspects of the project life cycle.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the field of energy efficiency, tax incentives or related industries.
- Bachelor of Science or Arts degree required with a business, engineering, or STEM related field.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from initiation to completion.
- Minimum of 2 plus years of proven effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and building strong client relationships.
- Must be proficient in drafting technical reports and deliverables, ensuring clarity and precision in documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Salesforce CRM
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to analyze complex financial and technical data accurately and confidentially.
- Solid understanding of the Energy Efficient Commercial Building Property tax incentive (Internal Revenue Code section 179d) or similar tax incentives would be advantageous.
- Additional certification in project management (PMP etc) is highly preferred.
