Position Summary: The Paint and E-Coat Line Associate is responsible for operating and maintaining the paint and electrocoating (E-Coat) lines. This role ensures that all parts are properly coated to meet quality and durability standards before they proceed to the next stage of production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coating Operations:
  • Operate paint and E-Coat equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare parts for coating by cleaning, masking, and hanging them on racks.
  • Monitor the coating process to ensure even application and proper thickness.
  • Quality Control:
  • Inspect coated parts for defects such as runs, sags, or thin spots.
  • Perform adhesion and thickness tests to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Document and report any quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine maintenance on paint and E-Coat equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the coating process or equipment.
  • Keep work area clean and organized to prevent contamination.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Track and manage inventory of paints, chemicals, and other materials used in the coating process.
  • Report shortages or discrepancies to the inventory control team.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other line associates, supervisors, and quality control personnel.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues promptly.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in paint and E-Coat operations or manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Basic understanding of chemical safety and handling.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 51 per week
