Overview
Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Network Architect supporting an Intelligence Community Customer.
The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and analyzes the existing network architecture and provides designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies.
- Recommends best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., in order to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements.
- Designs telecommunications circuit specifications.
- Provides comprehensive systems and networks engineering and architectural planning services.
- Identifies the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services.
- Delivers service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as -Code.
- Develops and maintains network architecture specifications and artifacts.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with cross-functional engineering and development teams in the planning, design, development, and utilization of Cloud-based capabilities for the development, modification, and deployment of software.
- Interfaces with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.
- Comprehensively reviews existing architectures on a regular basis, recommends, and assists with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
- Supports efforts for cybersecurity technology, risks identification and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity.
- Engineers and upgrades LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems, and administration of multi-protocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
- Provides support to Application delivery networking, Cloud computing, End Point management, and desktop computing.
- Works with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management.
- Provides high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers.
Qualifications
Clearance Required: TS/SCI.
Degree and Years of Experience: Minimum of 12 to 15 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 to 13 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 to 9 years with PhD.
- Minimum 10 years of Cisco experience; proven expertise with Cisco network hardware including: routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipment.
- Minimum of 5 years with VMware, experience in virtual and physical internet protocol and Fiber Channel networks and routing protocols.
Required Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) and VMware VCP-NV certifications.
- Information Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level III.
- Professional certification in Cisco, and/or VMware.
Desired Certifications:
- ITIL certification.
Required Skills:
- Experience with Defense Information System Network (DISN) circuits and Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES).
- Experience in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encrypters.
- Experience designing VMware NSX Software Defined Networking.
- Experience with Cisco network hardening including routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipment.
- Experience utilizing network management solutions based on NetFlow and Simple Network Management Protocols (SNMP).
- Experience with DevOps, automating and scripting.
- Experience with RMF and DODAF 2.0 documentation standards and Change Management.
