Position Description: Join our client’s dynamic team in supporting a global communications network that delivers office automation solutions, document and information management tools, and collaboration, voice, and video capabilities. This secure, flexible, distributed architecture underpins a classified DoD IT system.
The Senior Network Architect (Key) tests and analyzes various network infrastructure elements, including power, software, security features, communication devices, lines, modems, and terminals. This role also oversees the overall integration of the enterprise network and is accountable for the planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network.
Position Job Duties:
- Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies
- Recommend best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, network segmentation protocols, etc., to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements
- Design telecommunications circuit specifications
- Providing comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services
- Identify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services
- Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as-Code
- Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and development teams in the planning, design, development, and utilization of Cloud-based capabilities for the development, modification, and deployment of software
- Interfacing with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and project support as directed
- Comprehensively reviewing existing architectures regularly, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required
- Supporting efforts for cybersecurity technology, risk identification, and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity
