Overview
Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Systems Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer.
The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for systems administration support, engineering support, integration, test, and deployment activities for the Security Engineering team.
- Engineers, installs, maintains, configures and optimizes Microsoft server operating systems.
- Manages virtualized environments.
- Provisions and manages virtual machines.
- Manages and configures VDI environments.
- Configures and maintains network services such as DNS and DHCP
- Knowledge in creating, administering, and troubleshooting Group Policies (GPOs).
- Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Works with internal and external IT teams to coordinate changes, implementations, and maintenances for network and security configurations.
- Supports the administration of Microsoft SQL databases.
- Develops and implements security measures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cyber threats.
- Applies STIGs to IT systems and documents results.
- Reviews STIG checklists developed by others for accuracy and completeness.
- Develops RMF security policy and procedures documents.
Qualifications
Clearance Required: TS/SCI.
Degree and Years of Experience: 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
Required Certifications:
- 8140/8570 IAT Level III certification.
Desired Certifications:
- VMware certifications (such as VCP, VCAP, VCIX).
- MCSE certification or other Microsoft certifications .
- Cisco certifications.
Required Skills:
- Requires proven experience with a deep understanding of VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi).
- Requires Strong knowledge of server hardware, storage, and networking concepts in virtualized environments.
- Requires some experience with designing and implementing VMware virtual infrastructure solutions, including scalability and high availability considerations.
- Requires some experience with standing up ESXi hosts, various versions, AD integrations, time, and DNS services.
- Requires some experience in the administration of Microsoft Active Directory (create user accounts, manage groups/permissions/access).
- Requires some experience in the administration of Microsoft databases (log shipping, event management, cluster management).
Desired Skills:
- Experience with system administration and network administration.
- Experience with Linux is desirable.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of network and host hardening.
- Knowledge of Splunk.
- Knowledge of Trellix and Tenable security and vulnerability products.
