Ability Solutions is looking for a compassionate and motivated Employment Support Specialist to help individuals with disabilities secure and maintain meaningful employment. This position involves working closely with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) clients, providing job preparation support, creating employment materials, assisting with job searches, and offering on-site coaching. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to empowering clients to overcome obstacles and achieve workplace success.
Key Responsibilities:Client Support & Job Readiness:
- Develop comprehensive profiles for new clients.
- Assist clients with building professional resumes, cover letters, and reference lists.
- Guide clients in using the Job Center of Wisconsin platform.
- Conduct mock interviews to improve client confidence and interview skills.
Job Development & Placement:
- Identify job opportunities that match client skills and career goals.
- Assist clients with job applications, resume submissions, and interview scheduling.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, providing weekly support and progress updates.
- Document client interactions and employer communications clearly and accurately.
On-the-Job Coaching & Workplace Support:
- Provide direct, on-site coaching to assist clients in learning job tasks and workplace expectations.
- Adapt job duties into manageable steps suited to each client’s needs.
- Model and reinforce positive workplace behaviors, offering constructive feedback as needed.
- Develop strategies to help clients build confidence and independence in their roles.
Retention & Long-Term Support:
- Support clients in maintaining employment for at least 90 days to ensure job stability.
- Work closely with DVR counselors, employers, and supervisors to address workplace challenges.
- Conduct periodic follow-ups with both clients and employers to encourage sustained success.
General Duties:
- Submit timely and accurate reports, including DVR documentation and coaching progress.
- Participate in staff meetings and client case reviews to promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Encourage client independence and self-confidence throughout their employment journey.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in employment services, workforce development, or a related field.
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in workforce settings.
- Familiarity with DVR consumer programs and employment processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-centered approach.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to different work environments and client needs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client travel support if needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: From $20.02 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
