General Ledger Accountant (Contract)

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join a finance team in a 6 month contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data effectively.

Duties

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are properly accounted for.
• Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and collections.
• Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely payments to employees.
• Conduct financial analysis to support corporate finance initiatives and strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring adherence to SOX regulations.
• Maintain documentation for wills, trusts, and estate law as needed.
• Support public accounting functions by preparing necessary reports and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Proven experience in financial statement preparation and public accounting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, corporate finance, and SOX compliance.
• Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliation and accounts receivable management.
• Familiarity with payroll processes is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
