Key Responsibilities
- Handle the complete accounting cycle for 6-8 monthly clients
- Produce income statement/profit & loss
- Produce balance sheets
- Generate all entries to do the above functions
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Reconcile all bank accounts
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies or errors in financial records
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Provide support during external audits or reviews
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper
- 5 years of balancing general ledger, preparing financial statements, account reconciliations, A/P, and A/R
Skills/Abilities
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and practices
- Proficient in using QuickBooks and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Familiarity with corporate accounting, tax regulations, technical accounting, governmental accounting, and GAAP
- Complete understanding of chart of accounts and can edit/modify as necessary
- Complete understanding of the trial balance
- Understands AR, AP, Fixed Assets, and can prepare appropriate entries
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment with the willingness to step in and help other team members to help get the job done
