Payroll Specialist/ Accounts Receivable

Our Client in New Bedford, MA is seeking an experienced Payroll / Accounts Receivable Specialist to become apart of their team!

The Payroll / Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the accurate processing of payroll, weekly and bi-weekly.    PAYROLL

  • Timecards & Time sheets :

Calculate union and non-union

  • Enter – payroll software (Assure)
  • Verify – entry
  • Distribute Checks
  • Manage and Track :

    • Vacation calendars

  • Sick / personal days etc.
  • Direct deposits
  • Track Child support / Levy / Union dues
  • Pension reports (union)
  • Health & Welfare reports (union)
  • Reporting :

    • Timecard breaks-lunch – w / o pay

  • Prepare Payroll Journal Entries
  • Verify ACA
  • Employees :

    • Process New Hires

  • Enroll – Health Ins. / Dental / Life Ins.
  • Interact and assist employees with – tax changes, resolving discrepancies, etc.
  • Process Workers Comp.
  • Interact with warehouse manager as needed

    • ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

  • Post all cash receipts to customer accounts
  • Contact customers for past due and or missed invoices
  • Work with billing dept. to research short paid invoices, etc.
  • Send Statements

    • MISCELLANEOUS

  • Order office supplies
  • Post office backup
  • Timecard labels
  • Excel and Word experience

    • SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is mandatory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure in, at times, fast-paced environment
  • Must possess initiative, energy and drive
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically in Excel
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Excellent attention to detail

    • EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum High school diploma required
  • Minimum 1 – year payroll (including Union) experience required

    • Salary : $24 - $26
