Ables Landscapes, an award winning landscape company in Charleston, SC seeking a hands-on, experienced Facilities/Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance and management of our facilities and fleet of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes initiative, and has a knack for fixing things. You’ll be responsible for everything from small engine repair to basic welding, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep—helping us stay safe, productive, and on the road.

- Oversee and manage day-to-day maintenance of company vehicles, trailers, and landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
- Diagnose and repair small engines and hydraulic systems
- Perform light fabrication and welding tasks as needed
- Coordinate routine inspections, preventative maintenance schedules, and repairs for all fleet equipment
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and yard area
- Track and manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
- Work with vendors and service providers for parts procurement and specialized repairs
- Ensure all equipment and facilities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Provide input on equipment purchases, upgrades, and replacements
- Support field crews with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and training when necessary
- Proven experience with small engine repair and diagnostics (2-cycle and 4-cycle)
- Welding and fabrication skills (MIG or stick preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with general knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and hands-on settings
- Experience managing fleet maintenance for a landscape or construction company
- Forklift certification or experience operating heavy equipment
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA compliance related to fleet operations
