Facilities/Fleet Manager

Ables Landscapes, an award winning landscape company in Charleston, SC seeking a hands-on, experienced Facilities/Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance and management of our facilities and fleet of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes initiative, and has a knack for fixing things. You’ll be responsible for everything from small engine repair to basic welding, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep—helping us stay safe, productive, and on the road.

Here's what you'd do:

• Oversee and manage day-to-day maintenance of company vehicles, trailers, and landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
• Diagnose and repair small engines and hydraulic systems
• Perform light fabrication and welding tasks as needed
• Coordinate routine inspections, preventative maintenance schedules, and repairs for all fleet equipment
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and yard area
• Track and manage inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
• Work with vendors and service providers for parts procurement and specialized repairs
• Ensure all equipment and facilities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide input on equipment purchases, upgrades, and replacements
• Support field crews with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and training when necessary

We think you'd be a great fit if you have:

• Proven experience with small engine repair and diagnostics (2-cycle and 4-cycle)
• Welding and fabrication skills (MIG or stick preferred)
• Strong mechanical aptitude with general knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments and hands-on settings

And while not mandatory, it'd be great if you have:

• Experience managing fleet maintenance for a landscape or construction company
• Forklift certification or experience operating heavy equipment
• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA compliance related to fleet operations
