Pay: $130,000 - $160,000
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. An offer within the posted range will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, education, relevant experience, and geographic location. This range is provided in accordance with California’s pay transparency laws.

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.
LOCATION: Brownsville, TX
The Director of Operations will lead a diverse team of facilities personnel, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal across the campus. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, and fostering strong client relationships, particularly with SpaceX stakeholders in a very dynamic and consistently changing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership:
· Lead a diverse team of approximately 280 facilities personnel, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
· Oversee janitorial staff and operations, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the campus.
· Manage grounds operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and effective SOW cleaning for the facilities.
· Oversee the landscaping team to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the campus grounds, including plant care, lawn maintenance, and seasonal decorations.
· Oversee the on-site house cleaning program to include general cleaners, inspectors, and houseman.
· Oversee the on-site bicycle tech program to ensure program is managed and successful.
· Overall management of a 3 shift 24/7/365 operation.
2. Conflict Resolution:
· Address and resolve conflicts within the team or with external stakeholders in a professional and effective manner.
· Meet all KPI expectations.
3. Profit & Loss (P&L) Knowledge:
· Manage the site’s budget and financial operations, including P&L responsibility, cost control, and financial reporting.
4. Client Relationship Building:
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with SpaceX stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
5. Strategic Planning:
· Develop and implement strategic plans for facility management, aligning with all SpaceX objectives and ABM’s standards.
6. Safety Management:
· Enforce strict safety protocols, conduct regular safety trainings, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Required Experience & Skills:
· Proven experience in janitorial services along with high level general management skills.
· Demonstrated ability in managing a multi-service site.
· Strong leadership skills with experience in team management.
· Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
· In-depth knowledge of P&L management and financial reporting.
· Proven track record in building and maintaining client relationships.
· Strategic planning capabilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
· Comprehensive knowledge of safety management and compliance with OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
· Minimum of 7 – 10 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
· High level of experience in facilities management, safety, or related areas is advantageous.
