Abode, one of the largest and effective nonprofits working to end homelessness in the Bay Area, is seeking a Senior Fiscal Contract Analyst for our programs in Alameda County.
About the Role: The Sr Fiscal Contract Analyst that will support operational finance activities across several program areas and contracts. This position may include the development and review of monthly invoices submitted to our funders, creation and review of budgets, forecasts, and other ad-hoc analysis. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to support multiple business partners and balance changing needs and priorities. This position has great visibility to the Abode Services &/or Abode Property Management leadership teams and interacts with a wide array of key stakeholders (Program, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Contracts, Senior Management, and Grantors). The Sr Fiscal Contract Analyst role is distinguished from the Fiscal Contract Analyst by managing a larger, and/or more complex portfolio of programs, which would include supporting multiple business partners and working independently on invoice completion with minimal Fiscal Contract Supervisor support. Position will need to proactively prepare program forecasts and routinely review program status with key internal stakeholders.

How You Make An Impact:
- Oversee comprehensive fiscal management for assigned contracts, including tracking renewal dates, submitting performance reports, preforming ad hoc analyses to support decision making and ensuring overall compliance with government and other funder regulations.
- Prepare and validate invoices for various funders, leverage formulas to develop complex analysis and models, ensure accuracy of program spending, and compile all supporting documentation. Research may be necessary to ensure accuracy and validity of information included in the invoice preparation.
- Review and approve purchase orders (POs) and/or invoices. Support program staff creating POs with accurate account codes and funding source eligibility.
- Support assigned Fiscal Contract Supervisor with the development, review and interpretation of program and contract budgets based on approved models, financial reporting data such as profit and loss statements, projected/trended analysis, budget forecasts and tracking of Key Performance Indicators.
- Navigate within the payroll, accounting, and other internal systems to extract necessary data for supportive documentation as required by key stakeholders. Coordinate with the accounting team, as needed, to ensure the data is complete and available.
- Analyze and review &/or prepare monthly invoice accruals, journal entries stemming from invoice activity, and monitor and manage contract receivables.
- Review contracts and service agreements to understand billing requirements and deliverables.
- Other special projects and tasks as assigned.
How You Meet Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and 3-5 years of relevant experience, MBA &/or CPA a plus.
- Experience in public and private funding in a non-profit environment highly desired.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- 1-3 years supervisory experience, desirable.
- Ability to deal with contract accounting representative in resolving collection issues.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality products.
- Excellent computer skills including modeling in Excel. Experience with financial analytical tools and techniques preferred.
- Ability to perform under pressure in an environment of competing interests, prioritize work and maintain open communications with diverse groups of individuals.
- Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
