Job Description
The Life Enhancement Coach is responsible for organizing, planning, facilitating and directing the overall activities for the About Senior Solutions Life Enhancement Program, and as may be directed by the Administrator to assure that on-going activities are designed to meet, in accordance with the assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each participant of The Life Enhancement Program. The Life Enhancement Coach is also responsible for developing and maintaining a wellness component within the program.
The Life Enhancement Coach must enjoy working with older and disabled adults with physical and or cognitive impairments. Knowledge in fitness, nutrition, and cognitive health are important. A teaching or fitness background will be helpful, but the Life Enhancement Coach must be flexible and creative in their facilitation style. Experience in the arts or music are also valuable in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Primary responsibility is to provide a creative social atmosphere for the client and promote participation with The Life Enhancement Program through regularly scheduled events, activities, special programs, guest speakers, exercise and nutrition sessions.
2. Coordinate special functions and activities for major Holidays for the client.
3. Ensure activities and events acknowledge and meet the cultural, religious and ethnic diversity and interests of The Life Enhancement Program and may include family.
4. Personally meet with the administrator to ensure completion of an "Activity Assessment".
5. Work with the Administrator, on budget for activities. Make recommendations to the Administrator with respect to staff abilities and possible leaders for specific activities.
6. Ensure compliance with all of house policies and procedures when providing life enhancements in a community setting.
Proper use of Petty Cash in conjunction with performance of job duties.
7. Coordinate transportation needs of the residents and maintain transportation schedule for all events or activities outside of the client’s home.
8. Communicate successes within the Life Enhancement Program with appropriate care manager.
9. Maintain contacts for special guests and locations for outings.
10. Develop, recruit, manage and schedule Community Volunteers if needed.
11. Complete and maintain all required logs and paperwork associated with the Life Enhancement Program.
12. Accurate and timely performance of all clerical work connected with the position (e.g., Posting in Caretree, Monthly Activity Calendar, Journaling or Newsletter).
13. Per State of California regulations, as a "mandated reporter" you must report all known or suspected incidents of abuse of dependent adults or elders.
14. Participate in any meetings to communicate key issues related to The Life Enhancement Program and or your role as a staff member.
15. Obtain and maintain all state required certifications/licensures if required.
16. Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
17. Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
- 18. Maintain a safe and secure environment for The Life Enhancement Program, all staff, the family and guests, following established safety standards.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
