We're looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medicare Biller to join our dedicated team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing the billing and claims process for Medicare and other payers, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and driving timely reimbursements. Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Claims Management: Accurately prepare and submit Medicare claims for hospice services, following federal, state, and payer-specific regulations. Handle claims for secondary payers as needed, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order before submission.

Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Post payments to patient accounts quickly and accurately. Perform regular account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly to ensure correct payment allocation.

Denials & Appeals: Review denied or rejected claims, determine the cause, and promptly correct any errors. Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims, including gathering necessary supporting documentation.

Compliance & Record Maintenance: Ensure compliance with Medicare and hospice-specific billing regulations, as well as HIPAA standards. Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient billing records and documentation.

Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with clinical teams and other departments to resolve billing issues. Communicate directly with patients and families regarding billing inquiries in a professional and clear manner.

Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular reports on accounts receivable, aging, and reimbursement trends. Analyze billing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in hospice billing, with a solid understanding of Medicare regulations and hospice-specific billing requirements.
- Proficient in medical billing software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding as they apply.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
