What are the responsibilities and job description for the PCA Personal Care Assistant position at Above All Home Care Agency?
Overview
We are looking for warm, compassionate, dependable and professional PCA's to provide personal care services to client's within their home. The aides will follow the plan of care and provide services which includes but not limited to, bathing, oral hygiene, light housekeeping, laundry, etc. Experience is a plus! The hours for this position can vary but will typically be a from 6:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday and weekends from 7:00am-3:00pm. In addition, the PCA may be required to perform the following duties/skills.
- Provide personal care assistance to individuals in need.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support individuals with behavior management and memory care.
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and organizing living spaces.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' physical or mental condition.
- Follow care plans and ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
- Knowledge of dementia care and understanding of the needs of individuals with memory impairments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to provide emotional support and maintain a compassionate approach.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies.
- Maintain a clean and safe client environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and organizing living spaces.
