Personal Care Assistant Needed
About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and competent Personal Care Assistants to support our clients in their homes. Our ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and able to plan and organize activities with maturity.
Qualifications
- Completion of a state-approved PCA training program or HMK/Home Health Aide training program in Massachusetts.
- A Homemaker-Home Health Aide certification from another state or territory may be accepted if accompanied by sufficient documentation.
- Exhibits physical fitness, free of communicable diseases, and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Maintains a valid driver's license and has reliable transportation.
Work Environment
Field work in client homes with minimal office requirements.
Essential Functions
- Cooperate with family members, supervisors, and other stakeholders involved with the client.
- Follow instructions, be conscientious, and take pride in work.
- Inform supervisors of unusual incidents or significant changes in client condition.
Characteristics of the Role
The position may require heavy lifting, extensive bending, standing, and dealing with various personalities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients in and out of bed.
- Provide safe transfers and ambulating techniques.
- Perform toileting, elimination, and bathing duties.
- Ensure adequate nutrition and fluid intake.
- Record ADL activities and report any changes in client condition.
