Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Paraprofessional to join us at Above and Beyond Mental Health Services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting individuals with mental health needs and providing compassionate care. The ideal candidate for this position MUST HAVE excellent written and oral communication skills, a high level of professionalism, exceptional customer service and phone etiquette skills, and the ability to prioritize. This position is to develop familiarity with the Individualized Service Plan of each client served, keep all job requirements up to date, i.e. intakes, individualized service plans and quarterlies. This position will assist client to develop socialization skills, daily community living skills, coping skills, budget management skills, provide direct interventions, behavior and anger management techniques. The QPP will ensure clients are free from abuse, mistreatment, and/or neglect and will report any incidents of such to supervisor. This position must provide privacy and confidentiality of all records and represent Above and Beyond MHS in a positive manner, reflective of the company's mission whenever in the community. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Will develop individualized treatment plans for clients
- Monitor and document client behaviors developing progress notes that meet DMAS and VA Medicaid Regulations
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when needed
- Collaborate with the clinical staff to ensure the well-being of each client
- Attend ALL supervision/staff meetings as required
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED- A minimum of 90 hours of classroom training and 12 weeks of experience under the direct supervision of a QMHP-A providing services to individuals with mental health illnesses
- Previous experience working in a mental health setting is a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively regarding documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Knowledge of behavioral management techniques
- Understanding of mental health disorders, interventions, and treatment approaches
