Minimum Requirements:
- NMPED Secondary Education or Special Education Level 2 or 3 Licensure
- At least three years of experience teaching at the high school level
- Ability to start work by 3/4/25
Preferred:
- TESOL Endorsement
- Special Education Licensure
- Experience coordinating Dual Credit
- Experience teaching College and Career curriculum
- Experience creating and monitoring Next Step Plans
- Experience working with adult learners (age 18-21)
- Experience working with at-risk learners in a trauma-informed, restorative setting
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Deliver instruction in Life Connected Learning and CTE Electives, both in person and distance learning
- Coordinate the school’s Dual Credit partnerships with CNM, UNM, IAIA, and CEC, and work with students to get enrolled in and succeed in Dual Credit courses
- With a team, managing Next Step Plans for every student
- Enthusiastically adopt the school’s trauma-informed and restorative approach, which involves positive redirection rather than imposing negative consequences
- Provide individual and small-group classroom instruction in a multi-grade-level, multi-ability-level, technology-rich classroom
- In collaboration with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, modify existing curriculum and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and cultural backgrounds, to stay current with changing standards and best practices, and in accordance but not limited to IEP, 504, and SAT modifications and accommodations
- Provide multiple opportunities for students to revise work and improve performance
- Instruct students in citizenship, basic communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Establish and maintain healthy, human relationships between individuals involved in the learning process
- Evaluate student progress, consistent with school policy and philosophy, keep appropriate records, prepare appropriate student reports, and effectively communicate with students, supervisors, and parents
- Maintain professional competence through participation in professional growth activities
- Identify student needs and work collaboratively with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students overcome health, social-emotional, and academic barriers
- Create, with assistance from students, a functional and attractive environment for learning
- Work collaboratively with subject area teams. Attend and contribute to collaboration meetings
- Administer standardized tests with appropriate accommodations
- Assume responsibility for a reasonable amount of non-teaching activities such as directing of extra-curricular work, teachers’ meetings, professional study, in-service training, curricula revision, student supervision, and other similar activities
- Other duties as assigned
Salary ranges DOE: Level 2: $72,615 - $110,800, Level 3: $83,945 - $113,509
depending on experience and education and pursuant to adopted salary schedules
167‐day school year, Work schedule Tuesday through Friday 7:30am‐3:45pm.
