SummaryThe Solder Technician performs entry level assembly and soldering of surface mount and thru-hole electronic components on to printed circuit boards per IPC-A-610 class 2 standards. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Essential Functions

- Follow internal assembly process documentation ensuring product meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to the company’s ISO Quality Management System.
- Populate printed circuit boards with thru-hole or secondary operation components.
- Solder thru-hole components per IPC-A-610, class 2 standards.
- In-process inspection of thru-hole components.
- Depanelize printed circuit boards.
- Trimming, clipping, tinning of wires and leads.
- Prep raw components for secondary operations.
- Hand washing of finished printed circuit board assemblies.
- Properly label or mark circuit boards.
- Package and box assemblies as required for shipping.
- Glue, epoxy and mask circuit boards.
- Program and functionally test circuit boards.
- Ensure work area is kept clean and free of debris.
- Adhere to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to working near moving mechanical parts and caustic fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, use fine hand motor skills/dexterity, use repetitive motions, and lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Knowledge of electronic components and equipment.
- Ability to perform basic thru-hole component soldering on printed circuit boards to IPC standards.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
