The IT professional will be responsible for managing and enhancing the Abrams IT infrastructure while providing hands-on technical support and ensuring system efficiency. This role requires a solid understanding of IT systems, troubleshooting, and infrastructure development, along with the ability to address challenges proactively and adapt to the constantly changing technology landscape. Experience or a strong interest in cybersecurity is highly valued, as this professional will contribute to safeguarding the organization's digital assets and implementing security best practices.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and versatile IT professional to join our team and play a key role in managing and improving our organization's IT infrastructure. Competencies

  • Strong foundation in IT systems and infrastructure, including server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Understanding and experience in designing, installing, and optimizing network infrastructure (wired and wireless).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Knowledge of server installation and maintenance (Windows and/or Linux).
  • Familiarity with wired and wireless network design and management.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity concepts and practices (highly desirable).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to improving IT systems, and the ability to collaborate with leadership to align technology solutions with organizational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Provide timely and effective end-user support for IT-related inquiries.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, servers, and other IT equipment.
  • Ensure all systems and devices are updated and functioning efficiently.
  • Design, install, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and cabling.
  • Set up and manage servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Monitor and improve network performance as necessary.
  • Assess and mitigate security risks to protect organizational data and systems.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and user training.
  • Stay informed about emerging cyber threats and recommend preventative strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify technology needs and align solutions with business goals.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Proven experience in IT systems, network administration, and infrastructure.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network-related issues.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related filed (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience (2-5 years) in IT systems management, network administration, and infrastructure support.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Knowledge of server installation, configuration, and maintenance (Windows, Linux, or both).
  • Familiarity with network design, installation, and management, including wired and wireless networks.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and experience with implementing security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus solutions, and user training.

Preferred Qualifications

CompTIA (e.g., A , Network , Security ) Cisco (e.g., CCNA)

Microsoft (e.g., MCSA, MS Azure certifications)

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry IT equipment such as servers, desktop computers, monitors, and network devices weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate and work in various environments, including under desks, in server rooms, and within confined spaces to install or maintain hardware and network components.
  • Proficient in using tools and fine motor skills for tasks such as connecting cables, configuring hardware, and performing repairs on IT equipment.
  • Adequate vision to read computer screens, technical manuals, and small text on devices; hearing ability to diagnose issues based on system sounds or user descriptions.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or work at a computer station for extended periods, as well as perform repetitive motions such as typing or mouse usage during troubleshooting and system maintenance.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment.
