Litigation Paralegal

We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm looking to add a Paralegal to assist and support our Transportation Department/ Insurance Defense Group in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a paralegal in insurance defense litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception through trial.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including summonses, complaints, answers, discovery demands and responses, motions, notices of deposition, subpoenas, and trial preparation materials.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
- Review and summarize medical records, accident reports, and deposition transcripts.
- Handle electronic court filings (e-filing) in state and federal courts and maintain accurate records within the firms case management system.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, EUOs (Examinations Under Oath), arbitrations, mediations, and independent medical examinations (IMEs) with attorneys, clients, and opposing counsel.
- Communicate with clients, experts, witnesses, and insurance carriers to facilitate case progression.
- Manage case calendars and deadlines to ensure timely filings and compliance with court requirements.
- Assist in trial preparation, including preparing trial binders, exhibits, and witness materials.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense litigation.
- Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and e-filing systems.
- Proficiency in drafting and responding to discovery demands, motions, and legal correspondence.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and polished demeanor.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal case management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with insurance claims, Commercial and Personal Lines Auto Property Damage Claims, and No-Fault regulations is a plus.
