Position Title : Housekeeping Director
Department : Housekeeping
Reports to : Ariel Smith, Administrator
Hours : The hours for this position are Monday to Friday, day shift and may include additional hours as needed.
JOB SUMMARY : The purpose of this position is to supervise the Housekeeping Department. This includes directing and supervising the daily functions of the department’s staff and assuring that the highest degree of quality is maintained at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS WHEN SUPERVISING
Assumes the responsibility to oversee all Housekeepers, Custodians and Laundry staff.
Create and maintain schedules for the Housekeeping department.
Makes rounds throughout the building to ensure proper housekeeping techniques and services are being utilized.
Completes required audits.
Assures that the Housekeeping department has adequate supplies.
Assures that storage areas are clean and organized.
Assists, guides, encourages, and counsels employees as needed with HR guidance.
Assures that the Housekeeping department’s equipment is in working order.
Participates in required meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in management is preferred.
Ability to read, write, and follow directions.
Must be energetic and able to work with a diverse population of residents and employees.
Must be able to function as part of a team.
Able to multi-task.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Good physical health.
Able to push carts and move various equipment and supplies.
Able to walk and be on feet for long periods of time.
Able to bend down, lift items up to 50lbs, reach above and below shoulder height.
