Overview: At Absolutely Loving Hands Child care, we are seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our childcare team. The Assistant Toddler Teacher will work alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for toddlers, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote developmental milestones.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of toddlers during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Support toddlers in daily routines, including meal times, diapering/toileting, napping, and transitions.
- Foster a warm and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, and positive interactions.
- Monitor and document developmental progress and behavior, sharing observations with the Lead Teacher.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, guardians, and team members to support each child’s needs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in early childhood education preferred.
- Previous experience working with toddlers or young children in a childcare setting is a plus.
- Candidates who have obtained PA child care clearances (preferred)
- If you do not already obtain the proper clearances, we’re happy to assist you in preparing them.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, sit on the floor, and engage in active play.
