Production Supervisor/Manager

We are a rapidly growing craft ice manufacturer specializing in high scale efficient

manufacturing of crystal clear craft ice. We started in Northern California in 2020 and have been expanding sales nationally to high-end bars, restaurants, retail customers, and events and venues across the country. Our focus is on safety, quality innovation, and sustainability, ensuring our products enhance the drinking experience of all of our customers. We are now looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team to open up our new production facility in Forest City, NC.

The Role

You will be a key member of our operations team reporting to the Plant Manager, and be responsible for manufacturing and production of our artisanal ice products. You will supervise the production shifts of the Forest City facility, managing a team, optimizing processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a background in food and beverage production, operational excellence, and team development. A key part of this role will be building the operations team and creating a high performing work environment through production reporting, KPIs, communication, and most importantly a culture centered around personal and food safety.

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred but not required with sufficient experience

• Prefer have a minimum of 5 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment in a supervisory role, preferably food and beverage.

• Experience with safety best practices including Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), safe handling of chemicals, etc.

• Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and other relevant quality standards

• Experience managing production schedules to meet orders, assign daily work tasks, run shift meetings, and communicate changes with the production team.

• Past Experience with shift/production reporting, safety procedures, quality control standards, SOPs, etc.

• Any experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, or continuous improvement is preferable.

• Ability to do whatever it takes to ensure safe, high quality, and efficient production of ice.

Responsibilities

Operational Management:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet quality, quantity, and delivery goals.
• Develop and implement production schedules, monitoring progress to ensure timelines are met.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure minimal downtime through proactive strategies, support maintenance with troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Continuously look for opportunities for increased productivity or efficiency, seeking feedback from the production team on how to continually improve the process.
• Quality Assurance
• Maintain high product quality standards by ensuring strict adherence to company protocols and industry regulations.
• Monitor production processes to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
• Support implementation of quality assurance procedures

Leadership & Team Development:

• Train, and develop plant staff to build a cohesive and high-performing team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement among employees.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement development plans.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure the plant operates in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations set by Abstract Ice, OSHA, and the FDA.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols and training programs to mitigate workplace hazards.
• Maintain detailed records of safety incidents and implement corrective actions.

Process Improvement & Cost Management:

• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
• Support plant manager on cost savings efforts and seek out opportunities for increased efficiency.

Physical Requirements

• Role requires walking, standing, and / or driving at times

• Ability to reach, kneel, stoop, climb, walk, push, pull, lift & lower weight of up to 50 pounds.

• Must be comfortable working in refrigerated and freezing conditions for prolonged periods of time as required for the ice-making process.

• Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including overtime, holiday work, and weekends as required for a start-up organization.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
