Abundant Solutions is seeking a Production Test Technician to assist in managing the daily operations within the Production Test Department. This role will support the Test Supervisor in managing priorities, addressing technical issues, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of the department. The technician will conduct production testing and troubleshooting on high-voltage (2KVA to 200KVA) AC / DC power converters and related subassemblies such as System Control Boards, Inverter / Rectifier Control Boards, and Filter Assemblies.
Key Responsibilities :
T esting and Troubleshooting :
Perform tests on completed units following production procedures and document required data.
Identify and report malfunctioning unit operations.
Troubleshoot faults using block diagrams and schematics at the system, board, and component level.
Test and troubleshoot equipment subassemblies and components, including Printed Wiring Assemblies.
Support the Test Supervisor :
Ensure tasks are completed according to the production schedule and priorities.
Follow all safety protocols and assist with mentoring and training other technicians.
Provide recommendations for process improvements to the Test Supervisor.
Collaborate with Engineering :
Assist in the design and construction of test fixtures and associated procedures.
Isolate production issues from engineering-related problems.
Required Qualifications :
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wire lists, test procedures, and data sheets.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with assembly personnel and engineers.
Experience working with software loads and using tools like PuTTY.
Proficient with standard test equipment, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, Meg-Ohm meters, Hi-pot testers, and thermal imagers.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status required.
Required Experience :
3-5 years of recent experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting.
Proven leadership and ability to direct others.
Experience in power conversion is preferred.
Education :
Electronics degree from an accredited technical institute or equivalent military training.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform fine manual tasks.
Ability to use a keyboard and operate standard office equipment.
Must be able to see, hear, and smell to perform job functions.
