Job Title: Development and Grant Manager
Reports To: Executive Director
Time Requirement: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Exempt
Location: Main Office
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The person in this position is responsible to oversee the donor relations program and manage fundraising initiatives. This individual will be responsible for developing fundraising campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, and building a strong development team for the organization. This position involves managing individual and corporate gifts, grant writing as well as planning annual giving campaigns and supervising two administrative staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete grant applications including narratives and budgets and submit on time.
- Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships.
- Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising, donor events and annual meeting.
- Develop yearly Annual Report.
- Develop print and/or digital marketing materials related to fundraising.
- Implement annual fundraising plan to meet fundraising goals.
- Manage Customer Relationship Management system (Bloomerang).
- Research and secure new funding sources to ensure the organization’s sustainability.
- Alongside the Executive Director, network and maintain regular correspondence with donors and partners.
- Coordinate Board of Directors meetings, take minutes, update orientation binders.
- Develop and distribute monthly newsletter.
- Manage website and donor platforms.
- Supervise front line administrative staff.
RECORD KEEPING
- Prepare and present regular reports on progress towards fundraising goals at Board of Director’s meetings.
- Communicates and follows up on necessary information in a timely manner.
- Collects and compiles client statistics for program management and grant reporting.
GENERAL
- Applied understanding of fundraising principles, grant writing and development best practices.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading ability.
- Develop knowledge and expertise regarding domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
- Understands project objectives and how they relate to the goals of the agency.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications or related field
- 4 years of fundraising experience
- Grant writing experience and able to foster relationships with funders.
- Knowledge of sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking issues.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Display a positive attitude, a desire to show concern for people and the community, to demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening abilities.
- Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and with deadlines at times.
- Ability to empathize, encourage and guide.
- Able to independently use a computer for word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, email, internet research, data entry and data management.
- Experience with online fundraising, email marketing, and internet research.
- Valid driver's license and car insurance.
- Must be willing to complete background checks.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Possess vision and hearing sufficient to work on a computer, on the telephone and in person.
The following experience/knowledge is not required but helpful:
- Experience in community organizing, capital campaigns, working with Bloomerang CRM or other management databases.
SALARY RANGE
$55,000-$70,000/year dependent on training, education and experience.
