What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant 1-3 yrs position at ACA Talent?
This role will be responsible for handling the core accounting responsibilities for the department with an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and the accounting process end to end. This role will also review, analyze, and interpret all financial and budgetary reports. A successful candidate will be a team player who will continuously look for opportunities to make the team more efficient and effective, advocate best practices, develop and maintain operating procedures, keep attention to detail, and use problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and maintain accountability for accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of accounting processes including month-end activities, variance analysis, key inputs, balance sheet reconciliations, etc. of accounts managed by the department.
- Analyze balance sheet, revenue, and expense accounts to summarize and explain financial and statistical results comparing to budget, prior month, and prior year amounts. Provide explanations for variances.
- Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Utilize the available ERP and expert systems to obtain information needed in the research and reconciliation process.
- Develop and maintain reports to communicate financial and statistical information to management and / or the appropriate functional business group.
- Develop and maintain updated SOPs to support departmental tasks and processes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the tools utilized by the department including Excel, Access, and other office tools.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing client schedules and worksheets as needed.
- Complete other projects as requested by management to support the Finance department.
