Our students and employees benefit from the close proximity to various local amenities, including shopping, dining, entertainment, and outdoor recreational opportunities.Job SummaryThe Chemistry Department at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), an ACS certified program, invites applicants for a full time Assistant Professor of Chemistry faculty position starting August 1, 2025. Applicants with experience in any broadly defined area of chemistry are encouraged to apply. Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience in the areas of chemical education and fermentation science. Primary responsibilities will be teaching a variety of undergraduate chemistry courses, including general chemistry for chemistry majors and non-majors. Depending on the candidate's expertise, occasional teaching of upper-level chemistry courses in Biochemistry, Quantitative, Inorganic, Organic, Fermentation Science, and / or Instrumental Analysis may be expected. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, scholarship, and service to the college and community.Required QualificationsApplicants should hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry (or a closely related field) on or before the semester of the start date and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours within the discipline.Conditions of EmploymentHiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States and proof of eligibility will be contemporaneously required upon acceptance of an employment offer.
