Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APCSI) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Specialist.

POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred

Knowledge of the Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) preferred
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
JOB GOALS:
The Human Resources Specialist provides support for various HR employee programs within the organization and assists the Chief Financial Officer in assigned duties.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent Academics Plus Charter School in a positive manner at all times.
B. Obtain full knowledge of the APSCN program and HR-related processes.
C. Process payroll in accordance with APSCN procedures.
D. Correlate staff absences with substitute pay.
E. Maintain benefits and deductions for each staff member.
F. Process accounts payable related to benefits and deductions.
G. Serve as a District Health Insurance Representative (HIR) for the Arkansas Employee Benefits Division.
H. Assist in the development of forms, processes, and procedures to ensure smooth HR department operations.
I. Prepare correspondence, forms, and reports as assigned.
J. Oversee the maintenance of employee personnel and confidential files.
K. Recruit staff, including developing job descriptions, preparing advertisements, and reviewing application forms.
L. Process hiring paperwork, including background checks.
M. Maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
N. Take initiative and work independently to meet the goals and needs of the HR department.
O. Maintain an up-to-date applicant pool and process/sort job applications.
P. Inform job applicants of details such as compensation and benefits.
Q. Verify incoming deposits.
R. Sort mail at the district level.
S. Assist with personnel screening.
T. Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors, and staff.
U. Communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.
V. Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school positively at all times.
W. Perform other duties as assigned.
