Mathematics Teacher:
The Academy for Career Education (ACE High School), a WCSD sponsored construction and engineering charter school, is looking for a full-time Mathematics teacher candidate for immediate hire. Candidates must hold a valid Nevada Teaching License with endorsements meeting the job description or have started the process to complete endorsement.

Description - Mathematics
The Academy for Career Education is looking for a Mathematics teacher who holds proper credentialing to teach all areas of the mathematics curriculum at the secondary level. This position would be for a full-time teaching position to begin immediately. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a valid and current Nevada Teaching License with an endorsement in Mathematics 9-12. The candidate must be capable of teaching mathematics from Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus and other related Mathematics classes following the Nevada Academic Content Standards for 9th-12th students. The successful candidate may be part of the Freshmen Success Program integrating SEL, study skills, online learning environments, and other duties related to the instruction of 9th graders. Preference will be given to candidates with additional endorsements in the various subject areas, especially Special Education and CTE.

Instruction, Planning, and Preparation
1. Teaches content and skills in science using Nevada Academic Content Mathematics Standards.
2. Develop and implements lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the students’ grades and skill levels.
3. Provides individual, small group, and whole group instruction and can adapt curriculum to the needs of each student by differentiating instruction.
4. Integrates existing SEL and ACE’s Freshmen Success curriculum while working to advance student success to meet the ever-changing student population.
Classroom Environment
5. Creates a learning environment that encourages the development of students’ math skills in reading, writing, investigating, exploring, solving, testing, data collection, listening, and speaking essential content benchmarks for the respective math curriculum.
6. Maintains a classroom that is conducive to a safe and respectful atmosphere.
7. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
Professional Responsibilities
8. Consistently documents student data to include grade reports, attendance, and other record-keeping activities as necessary.
9. Evaluates each student’s progress in meeting the course standards for math skills and use that data to guide instruction.
10. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning and participation problems.
11. Communicates with parents and school staff regarding student progress.
12. Create and promote additional science/career-ready assignments and systems for students to experience and use in the future for the purpose of career planning and development.
13. Be a leader in the department to assist all staff with strategic planning, implementation, and problem-solving of the math content standards as it relates to student success.
Other Duties
14. Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs for licensure, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities.
15. Participates in various student and parent activities including Open Houses and other recruiting events.
16. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the principal or other appropriate administrator.
