This individual should have excellent communication skills and a passion for student success. This position is on-site in San Francisco, CA.Experience with CNC, Metal Fabrication, and 3D laser printing is a plus!Responsibilities : Process student 3D and Laser files for outputVerify files are print ready and payment has been madeCo-manage digital queue of 3D projectsSubmit supply requests of materials and parts requiring replacement to shop ManagerParts extraction and bed / head cleaningLaser cutting of remote student filesMaintain and clean Epilog Laser systemsTroubleshoot software / translation issues with student projectsExecute preventive maintenance on all systemsPerform general rapid prototyping lab housekeepingCover the wood and metal shopsIssue and receive tools from students using Web checkoutWrite tickets assist report after assisting students or facultyMaintain machinery-change blades, belts, and discs on saws and sandersAssist students in the use of machinery and toolsEnforce safety and correct use of toolsSubmit supply lists of tools and parts requiring replacement to shop ManagerMaintain running inventory of toolsEnsure that shop is neat and that students clean up after themselvesParticipate in and adhere to the cross-training program for lab and shop technicians, ensuring the ability to perform multiple roles and support operations effectively during periods of short staffing, as required by the University, with comprehensive training provided.Assist shop Manager as needed in operation of shopCompensation : $24.00 / hourBenefits : Academy of Art University offers full-time employees health insurance, 401k options, paid vacation based on years of service (15 days' accrual at start), paid holidays, paid sick leave, and a commuter benefit program.
