Overview
The School Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors at the school. This role involves monitoring and managing safety protocols, responding to incidents, and fostering a culture of safety within the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor School Premises: Conduct regular patrols of the school grounds, hallways, and common areas to ensure safety and security.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to any safety incidents, emergencies, or disturbances, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
- Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures, including emergency response plans, drills, and lockdown procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with school administration, teachers, and local law enforcement agencies to address safety concerns and maintain a secure environment.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of incidents, interventions, and safety inspections. Report any safety issues to the school administration.
- Training and Education: Provide safety training and education to students and staff, promoting awareness and preparedness for potential risks.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts among students and staff, fostering a peaceful and respectful school environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications in safety and security preferred.
- Experience: Prior , or a related field is highly desirable.
- Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Training: Knowledge of safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and first aid.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
