Dance Instructor/Choreographer Part-time Academy of Music

PRE-BALLET DANCE INSTRUCTORS - PART-TIME - ACADEMY OF MUSIC IN GRAND RAPIDS

West Michigan's largest music school, the Academy of Music in Grand Rapids, is expanding to include dance classes, and needs a part-time dance teacher (and substitute teacher) for young children. Our goal is to have positive beginning dance classrooms staffed by amazing teachers who go beyond teaching dance technique and choreography to developing important life skills in students!

If you love children and dance, if you are fluent in beginner ballet and at least 18 years old, and if you have a passion for doing a good job, then this is the job for you.

Teacher pay $25-30/hour.

Teach morning or afternoon, after-school and/or Saturday beginner STUDIO PRE-BALLET DANCE CLASSES FOR AGES 3-6 at Academy of Music in Grand Rapids beginning January 2025.

WEEKLY LESSON PLANS PROVIDED, including music selections and class games and activities for the Around The World Fairytale Princess Ballet curriculum.

Our goal is to have positive beginning dance classrooms staffed by amazing teachers who go beyond teaching dance technique and choreography to developing important life skills in students!

Job Requirements:

• Teaching experience with BEGINNER BALLET to young children, ages 3-6 in group settings.
• Stage experience with beginner ballet dance choreography, participating in shows and planning choreography sequences and blocking.
• Real world dance experience and professional training (studio/university or similar).
• Group class teaching experience.
• Positive classroom management techniques.
• Ability to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Participation in student showcases.
• Must be able to pass a national background check.

Morning/Afternoon/After School/Weekend Teaching (days/times to fit YOUR schedule) :

• Studio beginner ballet dance classes, one-hour each, grouped by ages 3/4 and 5/6..
• Choose your days! PART-TIME - weekday morning or weekend to fit your availability.
