Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nutrition Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of a nutrition program for senior citizens, including meal planning, delivery, site management, education, and outreach, ensuring that the program adheres to dietary guidelines and meets the needs of the elderly population served by the Council on Aging.
Responsibilities
Program Development and Implementation:
- Designing and implementing nutrition programs for seniors, including congregate meals at designated sites and home-delivered meals.
- Managing meal distribution, including vendor relationships and food safety protocols.
Client Management:
- Conducting nutrition assessments for senior clients to identify individual needs.
- Maintaining client records, tracking meal participation, and ensuring eligibility requirements are met.
- Referring clients to other social services within the Council on Aging as needed.
Staff Supervision:
- Overseeing the work of meal site staff, volunteers, and delivery drivers, including training on food handling, customer service, and safety procedures.
- Scheduling staff and coordinating meal site operations.
Community Outreach and Education:
- Promoting nutrition programs to seniors through community presentations, outreach events, and collaboration with local organizations.
- Developing and delivering nutrition education workshops on topics like healthy aging, portion control, and meal planning.
Budget Management and Reporting:
- Monitoring program budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Preparing reports on program activity, client demographics, and nutrition outcomes for stakeholders.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and nutrition programs for seniors.

Required Qualifications:
