What You'll Do:
As a Kitchen Steward, you’ll be essential in keeping our kitchen running smoothly by ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and the efficient operation of our dish-room. Your day-to-day will include:
- Receiving & Stocking: Accurately receive, log, and rotate food and non-food products, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Dish Machine Management: Maintain dish machine temperature logs, monitor chemicals in dish machines, and make sure proper sanitation practices are in place.
- Sustainability Efforts: Oversee food waste, recycling, and trash to support our sustainability goals.
- Food Safety: Follow proper food handling, storage procedures, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Team Support: Support your team by maintaining a clean and safe work environment, fostering positive interactions and collaboration.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by your manager to help meet the overall kitchen goals.
What We’re Looking For:
We need a motivated and reliable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll bring:
- Food Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with food preparation, storage, and sanitation protocols.
- Certifications: ServSafe or an equivalent certification (if not already certified, we’ll help you obtain this).
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse team.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and work in a dynamic, high-energy kitchen.
- Flexible Availability: Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
