JOB SUMMARY : Join our dedicated team as a Paramedic, providing exceptional pre-hospital advanced, intermediate, and basic life support care to the sick and injured. You will operate in accordance with the highest local, state, national, and Acadian Ambulance standards, ensuring efficient and timely patient transport.
EQUIPMENT : You will utilize an array of essential equipment including ambulances, stretchers, spinal immobilization tools, and various medical devices such as cardiac monitors and defibrillators. You will also manage communications equipment and perform checks on inventory and repairs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The following functions are vital to your role :
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify signs of illness or injury, collaborating with other medical personnel as necessary.
- Administer timely and effective basic, intermediate, and advanced life support care, adhering to established protocols.
- Ensure the safe handling of patients during transport to and from the ambulance.
- Drive the ambulance safely and efficiently, adhering to company guidelines.
- Document all aspects of patient care and treatment accurately, maintaining comprehensive EMS run reports.
- Regularly inspect and test equipment, ensuring all gear is clean and functional.
- Participate in training and mentoring new EMTs and paramedic students as a Field Training Officer.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication with patients, co-workers, and healthcare providers.
- Perform routine maintenance activities to keep the ambulance operational.
- Complete additional duties as assigned, ensuring a smooth operation of the service.
