JOB SUMMARY : Join our dedicated team as a Paramedic, providing rapid and effective pre-hospital advanced, intermediate, and basic life support care for the sick and injured, following all local, state, national, and Acadian Ambulance standards of practice.
EQUIPMENT : You will utilize essential equipment including an ambulance, various stretchers, spinal immobilization devices, advanced monitoring equipment, and basic airway management tools, ensuring proper care and transport of patients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The following functions are essential to this position :
- Conduct thorough examinations of patients for signs of illness or injury, collaborating with medical personnel as needed.
- Administer timely and efficient life support care within your certification limits and approved protocols.
- Ensure safe patient handling during transport to medical facilities.
- Accurately document patient conditions and treatments on EMS run reports, maintaining comprehensive records as needed.
- Perform regular inventory checks and equipment testing to ensure operational readiness.
- Following each transport, prepare the ambulance and equipment for immediate service.
- Utilize basic extrication tools when qualified personnel are unavailable.
- Safely operate the ambulance, adhering to driving guidelines to ensure occupant safety.
- Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings and complete station duties as assigned.
- Guide and train new employees and EMT students as an approved Field Training Officer.
- Successfully fulfill the functions and responsibilities of both Emergency Medical Technician - Basic and Intermediate roles.
- Perform other duties as directed.
