What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist - RUM position at Acadian Ambulance?
Acadian Client Services has an immediate opening for a Billing Specialist (Reimbursement Utilization Management) at our Kaliste Saloom location.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Obtain medical record information from outside hospitals/facilities
- Review and prepare Medical Necessity Appeals and External Audits
- Review claims for Federal Compliance
- Handles inbound/outbound calls as needed
- Ensures accuracy of demographic information
- Other responsibilities, as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5 years of Medicare, Medicaid and/or Insurance Billing experience preferred, or Bachelor’s Degree and 3 or more years of billing experience with preferred ICD10 coding ability.
- Clinical knowledge regarding Medical necessity preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and customer relation skills
- Familiarity with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regulations for ambulance
- Ability to adhere to productivity goals and departmental guidelines
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and work independently
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Understands HIPAA
- High School education or equivalent
