What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Coordinator position at Acadian Medical Center?
1. Prepares directives, guidelines, and information on various components of the Quality Management Program for dissemination within the hospital in a timely manner.
2. Responsible for preparing for, interacting with, and responding to regulatory agencies.
3. Facilitates all Performance Improvement Projects, and works with Medical Staff Coordinator in maintenance of documentation associated with those team processes.
4. Assesses information collected from PI processes in order to identify important problems, trends, for improvement opportunities.
5. Oversees the development/revisions to the Performance Improvement Program to include the evaluation of data, ensures adequacy of data collection, reporting, and analysis of various departments and coordinates the dissemination of pertinent information as needed.
6. Takes Administrative call as scheduled.
7. Reports all Performance Improvement processes to the MEC and BOD on at least a quarterly basis.
8. Evaluates the PI Process annually, taking action on trends noted, and reporting results to the BOD.
9. Cooperates with directors and managers in planning, implementing, and educating on Performance Improvement and The Joint Commission standards.
10. Reviews regulatory changes and keeps Medical and hospital staff apprised of changes.
11. Facilitates the resolution and customer complaints in an effective and timely manner.
12. Maintains accurate notes and/or formal documentation of particular patient problems and resolution thereof.
13. Contacts patient to obtain additional information as it relates to complaint, in order to provide director with information of complaint, or to respond to a complaint.
- Leads the root cause analyses and failure modes and effects analyses and debriefings.
- Develops, evaluates, and maintains quality dashboards and performance metrics.
16. Collaborates with hospital and physician organization leaders to envision, develop, and implement the organization’s quality and patient safety plan
- Coordinate the process of monitoring, measuring, and assessment of patient care and support of systems to achieve high quality, safe, cost effective healthcare services.
- Coordinate and oversee hospital Quality Improvement Plan development, review, revision, and implementation.
- Oversees regulatory readiness, quality measurement, public reporting, and pay-for-performance programs and initiatives, holding staff and departments accountable for achieving performance goals.
- Establishes quality measurement and improvement activities, including methods to track implementation of action plans following site surveys and critical events reviews.
- Oversees reporting and communication of quality improvement initiatives, quality and patient safety awareness, safety culture survey administration, and recognition programs.
- Coordinates and reports Medical Staff Quality Assurance/Improvement activities.
