What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing and Public Relations Intern position at Acadiana Cane Cutters?
Acadiana Cane Cutters is a summer collegiate baseball team which has been part of the Texas Collegiate League for 14 years.
It is the hope of this organization that college students and recent graduates are equipped with the necessary tools to begin or continue their career in sports. Our goal is for those who participate in our internship program to understand the duties and responsibilities that come with maintaining a sports organization.
The Cane Cutters organization is looking for two (2) candidates for our Marketing and Public Relations Internship for the 2025 season. These candidates will play a critical role in developing the game day experience for our fans as well as help develop and maintain the brand of the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
- Creating content for all Cane Cutters’ Social Media Platforms
- Develop promotional videos and commercials for broadcasts
- Develop promotional material (both physical and digital) to be displayed around Lafayette, LA as well as our Social Media Outlets
- Create and edit press releases for all Cane Cutters home games
- Create detailed scripts that include promotional material, music, on-field games, and any other information that needs to be addressed
- Act as an on-field host or on-field assistant for any and all game day event both in-game or post-game
- Collect any and all materials that are needed for any promotional event or on-field game
- Rotate with the other M&PR Intern to run music for games
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Creation Suite, BoxOut, etc.)
- Basic understanding of video editing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive Attitude
- Strong Self Starter who is trustworthy and reliable
- Strong collaborative skills
- Public Speaking or emcee experience is a plus
- Must be willing and able to work all 24 Cane Cutter home games for the 2025 season as well as a maximum of 3 playoff games
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends
