We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Administrator (AWS) to install, configure, manage, and maintain Linux-based systems on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in deploying, securing, and optimizing AWS services such as EC2, S3, FSx, and EBS, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.
This role involves system maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, security monitoring, and performance optimization, requiring expertise in Linux administration, AWS cloud services, scripting, and automation tools like Ansible and Python.
This position requires on-call availability for evenings and weekends to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems on AWS.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, FSx, EBS).
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to prevent disruptions.
- Apply Linux OS patches, manage vulnerabilities, and perform system backups.
- Implement security best practices, including cookie security, web browser security, encryption at rest, and key management.
- Manage RedHat Image configurations and license deployments.
- Utilize automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation) for system deployment and configuration management.
- Develop and maintain Bash and Python scripts for automation and system optimization.
- Configure and manage networking (VPCs, subnets, routing) and network security tools (iptables, Linux IPVS, HAProxy).
- Perform multi-platform volume management using SVM, LVM, ZFS, NAS, and VERITAS.
- Manage user accounts for large-scale enterprise environments.
- Set up and maintain Linux Satellite servers and deployment managers.
Basic Qualification
- 3 years of experience in Linux administration (RHEL) on AWS.
- 5 years of experience in Linux system monitoring and troubleshooting.
- 3 years of experience in performance monitoring and environment scaling.
- 7 years of experience in Linux OS patching and vulnerability management.
- 3 years of experience in security best practices, encryption, and key management.
- 3 years of experience with RedHat Image management.
- 3 years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, FSx, EBS).
- 5 years of experience with automation tools (Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- 7 years of experience with scripting (Bash/Python).
- 3 years of experience with networking (VPCs, subnets, routing, iptables, HAProxy, etc.).
- 5 years of experience in multi-platform volume management (SVM, LVM, ZFS, NAS, VERITAS).
- 3 years of experience in AWS security implementation.
- 7 years of experience in user account management for large organizations.
- Linux Certifications (RHCT, RHCE, LPIC) are a plus.
