Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and Improve Quality Control Processes:
- Analyze manufacturing feasibility, process flow, and equipment design.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and engineering teams on new equipment purchase and validation.
- Develop and implement process instructions and balance production lines for efficiency.
- Process Improvement:
- Analyze production methods and provide management with reports to inform decision-making.
- Review labor, material, and production costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Focus on improving manufacturing efficiency through workflow optimization, equipment placement, and layout adjustments.
- Team and Cultural Leadership:
- Act as a cultural bridge, connecting younger and experienced team members to foster a collaborative working environment.
- Engage directly with the largely Spanish-speaking workforce to enhance communication and productivity on the floor.
- Support product and process development and guide the operations team through changes.
- Equipment and Process Support:
- Coordinate equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, ensuring all production equipment operates effectively.
- Train production staff on new equipment and processes, fostering a hands-on and proactive approach to solving production issues.
- Work closely with production leads to improve the workflow and communication on the manufacturing floor.
- System/ERP Support:
- Maintain and update BOMs, track labor and process metrics, and collaborate on ERP system improvements.
- Help identify relevant scrap rates, efficiency metrics, and other data-driven insights to optimize production.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- Candidates with 1 years of experience are preferred, with flexibility for candidates from different fields with related experience.
- 8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering for those without a formal degree.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and SolidWorks.
- Experience with Sage 100 or similar ERP systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.
- Ability to analyze production data, solve complex problems, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong team player with the ability to connect with people across cultural and generational lines.
- Proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Effective communication and coordination skills, especially when working with production operators and engineering teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $75,000 – $90,000, depending on experience.
