Key Account Operations Manager
The Key Account Operations Manager in Freight Forwarding is responsible for managing and nurturing strategic relationships with high-value clients in the logistics and freight forwarding industry. This role ensures seamless operational delivery, drives client satisfaction, and identifies growth opportunities while optimizing processes to meet the unique demands of traditional freight forwarding clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior-level stakeholders at key freight forwarding clients.
- Build and sustain long-term relationships to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
- Conduct regular business reviews and performance evaluations with clients.
Operational
- Ensure timely and accurate shipment planning, documentation, and execution.
- Resolve operational challenges proactively to maintain service excellence.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and analyze account performance metrics, including on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance.
- Develop and present regular reports on account performance to both clients and senior management.
- Use data-driven insights to propose and implement operational improvements.
Strategic Planning and Business Development
- Develop and execute account strategies to align with client needs and organizational goals.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional freight services.
Key Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in air and ocean import and export operations.
- Proven track record in managing high-value accounts and complex logistics operations.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of international shipping, customs procedures, and freight documentation.
- Handling of day-to-day file management to execute air and ocean and foreign to foreign shipments and see through to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in logistics management systems, ERP platforms, and CRM tools.
