Position Overview: The Ocean Import Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and timely processing of shipments, overseeing the end-to-end movement of cargo with precision and efficiency. This position requires adeptness in a fast-paced environment and excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, service providers, and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate shipments to meet service commitments and uphold client satisfaction in alignment with company objectives.
- Act as a liaison between clients, vendors, and government agencies for all ocean freight activities, facilitating smooth communication and resolution of issues.
- Trace and communicate shipment data with clients, overseas agents, and truckers, ensuring transparency and timely updates. Submit ISF data as required.
- Maintain and update service rates on a monthly basis, providing accurate quotations to clients.
- Utilize Cargo wise to create shipments, update cargo statuses, and ensure billing is processed accurately and promptly on a daily basis.
- Assist in compiling and preparing weekly operational review reports, contributing to performance evaluation and improvement efforts.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in NVOCC/Freight Forwarder Ocean freight operations, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of import logistics processes.
- Preferably possess a college degree in supply chain and logistics-related fields.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar document applications.
- Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with exceptional follow-up abilities.
