The Role:
The HR Generalist will take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition and onboarding to performance management and compliance. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker who can effectively collaborate with leadership, drive HR initiatives, and ensure the organization adheres to best practices and employment laws. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills, committed to creating a positive and compliant employee experience while contributing to strategic HR projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owns the onboarding process to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for new hires, from pre-employment through full integration into their roles.
- Verifies employment eligibility, conducts background checks, and ensures the accurate verification of credentials for new hires.
- Identifies and implements opportunities to improve HR processes, ensuring they support efficiency and scalability.
- Designs, develops, and implements new-hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Leads employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations independently, providing guidance to managers and ensuring processes align with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Supports change management initiatives, ensuring employees are equipped to navigate organizational changes effectively.
- Owns the integration of the organization's competency model into the employee lifecycle, ensuring alignment across all materials, processes, and procedures, and driving its adoption to support talent development and organizational goals.
- Oversees and manages compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and other development initiatives, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Manage compliance-related tasks such as unemployment claims responses, ACA reporting, employee handbook & policy updates, and ensures compliance with all local/state/federal statutes and regulations
- Very limited travel may be required
- Performs other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in HR.
- Skills: Strong relationship-building, excellent communication, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Other Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, training, and offboarding.
- Comprehensive HR knowledge, with a focus on implementing and managing core HR programs and initiatives; SHRM-CP certification is a strong plus.
- Solid knowledge of multistate and federal employment laws and compliance, with the ability to independently handle compliance-related responsibilities.
- Extensive familiarity with ATS and HRIS systems
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset, able to take initiative, think strategically, and independently manage projects.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, leveraging data and metrics to inform decision-making.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive HR matters.

- The remote/virtual work environment must be private and free from distractions such as other people and/or pets.
- Due to the sensitive nature of many HR functions, and the information that is accessible in this position, a private and secure network connection must be utilized.
