Position Summary
The Application Engineer will work closely with our sales and solutions team, designing projects with existing and new product offerings while assisting with all necessary requirements for each build. The AE will work across functions with product managers, order fulfillment and other departments within the business. This AE could work on both infrastructure and containment projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new data center infrastructure products from concept to production
- Create functional designs that fully address customer requirements in collaboration with the sales and solutions team
- Provide feedback to the sales team and offer Design for Manufacturing (DXM) solutions for installation drawings, best design practices, and technical support
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and conduct thorough design reviews with internal and external customers
- Generate accurate quotes and proposals for multiple projects per week
- Create Bill of Materials, drawings, cut optimization sheets, and renderings for quoting projects
- Create new part numbers in the ERP system
- Maintain an accurate part list and CAD library
- Create detailed production drawings for manufacturing
- Work with sales and clients for final approvals on orders
- Collaborates with product managers to successfully implement new and existing products, including research and development, application, and product improvement.
- Travel to customer sites to validate designs, perform site measures, and support sales team as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing tooling, fixtures, and structures
- Proven analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, and manufacturing process
- Skilled in utilizing Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Experience using ERP systems, Epicor preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc)
- Familiar with metalworking processes, mechanical sheet metal fabrication, and assembly processes
- Proficient in using OnShape design software
- Data Center Experience is preferred but not required
