In this position, you will contribute to Accelleron’s Bolingbrook, IL Reman Center, by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, focusing on the continuous improvement of operations to meet evolving needs of the business and its customers. Through the analysis of performance data, identification of inefficiencies, and the implementation of strategic solutions, you will support the organization in achieving its goals. This role involves collaboration with various Accelleron teams and departments to foster a culture of Safety, innovation and improvement to ultimately lead to increased productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Reporting Line: This position report to the Production Development Manager
Role Responsibilities:

Projects
- Develop, lead, execute, sustain, and standardize process improvement projects to enhance productivity while meeting safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Build a pipeline of process improvement projects.
- Document and present improvement projects to the Management Team.
- Pilot and report on performance indicators in line with business and budgetary objectives.
- Defend investment budgets (CAPEX) for future improvement projects and support the BC build-up.
- Provide technical support to operational teams, including analyses, process development, equipment start-up, and training.
- Participate in brainstorming and mapping of new projects.
- Adapt to changing requirements, timelines, and expectations.
- Apply creative problem-solving and innovative approaches to resolve complex issues.
Systems & Applications
- Work in and Maintain documentation in AutoCAD, Inventor (or other software application).
- Knowledge of advanced Microsoft applications including SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps or Microsoft Dynamics a plus (If not, must be able to acquire within 6 months for start)
- Knowledge of SAP S4/Hana or ERP learning
- Builds and maintains systems interfaces as required by the business (between ERP, WMS, SharePoint, etc.; using MS Power Automate, Powers App or similar application)
- Converts legacy paper/manual processes to digital solutions hosted on a common platform.
Continuous Improvement
- Responsible for the deployment and application of continuous improvement (including 5S) and problem-solving methods and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead improvement events (emphasis on Efficiency improvement, safety/ergonomics enhancement, Process Development and cost saving.
Health, Safety, and Integrity:
- Applies and adheres to safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities in daily routine. Reports unsafe practices and incidents.
Education and Requirements:
- Engineering Degree 2 years of experience or combination of education and
experience
- Working knowledge of CAD systems
- CNC or automation background a plus.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing/remanufacturing preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a matrix organization.
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams to implement projects and programs within the organization.
- Strong analytical skills using tools such as statistics, downtime tracking, mechanical history, project planning to identify opportunity areas.
- Initiates change and innovation in operations by influencing all levels of the company, to overcome resistance, find innovative ideas and solidify them with the implementation of improvements.
Physical & Other Demands:
- Stand or Sit: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and or remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Walk: Walk and move about on foot often through uneven surfaces.
- Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Constantly operates a computer, other office productivity machinery. Constantly use hands/arms to operate various equipment, including measurement, hand and power tools. Must be able to handle objects of various size, helps or works with hands. Must be able to extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist
- Talk/hear: Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Communications by radio, phone and in person. Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around workspace / sites and to receive communication by radio, phone and in person.
- See: Ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Read work tickets, parts and service books.
- Carry weight, lift: Must be able to regularly lift and/or move miscellaneous equipment parts and tools up to 50lbs/23kg
- Exposure to work: Occasionally works in atmospheric/outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally will work in unfavorable conditions.
- Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
