Summary

We are looking to add an entry level optician to our team. Our entry level optician will learn how to interpret eyeglass prescriptions written by our optometrist. They will assist patients in selecting frames based on each patient prescription and lifestyle, learn how to take measurements to ensure proper fit of eyewear, and proper lens selection. This is a challenging and rewarding job that requires strong people skills and excellent time management ability. Attention to detail and follow-through to completion of service is very important to maintain patient satisfaction. Opticians perform a variety of tasks in our office. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. We are considered to be a family oriented, boutique style optical gallery and knowledge/awareness of fashion and trends is a plus.

The applicant must be professional in appearance as our office is a conservative, upscale medical environment. Office hours are 9:00 to 6:00 on Monday and 8:00 to 5:00 Tuesday through Friday. Starting pay is $16.50 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

· Assist customers with selecting eyewear (frames and lenses) and provides detailed product knowledge to enhance their shopping experience.

· Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper medical coding.

· Assists with managing inventory.

· Assists in retail sales to meet store goals.

· Collaborates with optometrist to ensure a seamless patient experience while demonstrating effective time management skills.

· Stays updated on optical trends and advancements in optometry.

Qualifications

· Strong retail sales experience with a focus on customer service.

· Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to optical care would be a plus.

* Process transactions accurately and efficiently, utilizing retail math skills for pricing and sales calculations.

· A willingness to learn..

· Experience in an optical settings and an understanding of optometry in not necessary and can be taught.

· Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $16.43 - $17.20 per hour
